Located within the town of Kilrush, the Museum of Rural life is a heritage museum where an old-style kitchen, old machinery and
tractors are on display.
This unique museum is a must visit when in Kilrush. Items from rural and farm life across the decades, local history. There are items and artefacts from world war 2, an open hearth fireplace and a special section on JFK’s visit to Ireland. Joe Whelan is the curator, collector and tour guide and his knowledge of Irish rural life is astounding.
