DESCRIPTION:The monthly open mic social at Banner Books\, Kilrush is a free event\, open to all.\nFor lovers of poetry\, flash fiction and any kind of creative writing. Come to read from your own work or to share a favourite piece by another writer\, or come to listen and support.\nTea\, coffee\, and treats provided.This is a free event\, but there will be a ‘Tip Jar’ if you would like to donate towards expenses.\nArthur Watson was born in Belfast in 1946. He has lived in Clare for 30 years with his wife Judith. He has three children and three grandchildren. He has worked in theatre and commercial art in the UK and Ireland. He has lived in a commune in Norfolk. He helped found Raheenwood School\, the East Clare Community Co-op\, the East Clare Men’s Group and the Clare Poetry Collective. He is a member of Dandelion Puppet Theatre and manages Heritage Art. His poetry is part of the world rather than apart from the world and has been published in New Verse From Ulster\, Ulster Soundings\, Crow Hall Poetry\, The Honest Ulsterman\, Clare Market\, The Stony Thursday Book\, Revival\, The Three Legged Stool\, Grian\, Mountshannon Festival Poems\, Ennis Arts Festival Poetry Pamphlet\, Clare Poetry Broadsheet\, Calendar Poets\, and PEN Poets.\, He has given readings at the University of Ulster\, Berlin University\, Crow Hall\, Cambridge Festival\, Ennis Festival\, Mountshannon Festival\, Cuisle Festival\, Putney Festival\, Feakle Festival\, The Irish Book Festival\, Dooradoyle Library\, The Whitehouse\, The Locke Bar\, the Limerick Writers Centre\, The Belltable Theatre\, Glor Theatre\, Impact Theatre\, The Old Ground Hotel\, Tulla Courthouse Arts Centre\, He has read on RTE\, BBC.\, Limerick and Clare FM\, Ballyvaughan Culture Festival and the Electric Picnic among others.
